Drawing for Improvers with Philip Watkins This short course will enhance the use of colour in your drawings. Artist Philip Watkins will provide an introduction to colour theory and guide you through the use and application of drawing with soft pastel and oil pastel. These courses are held in the Arts Alive Wales building but bookings are managed by the University of Aberystwyrth. The following courses are on offer from October:   Pastels: Figures and portraits Code: CF203 (January/February 2015) The course will focus on portraiture and the human figure, exploring how artists have developed this theme and how examples can be translated into contemporary practice. Pottery with Martin Craddock Concentrating on the making process this practical course introduces the fundamental techniques used in hand-built ceramics. Martin Craddock, our trained potter and tutor will guide you through coiling, slabbing and press-moulded dish making. Suitable for beginners as well as those with some experience.
