CHILDREN’S CRAFT CLUB

Children's Craft Club Join artists Penny Turnbull and Amy Mason for our cheerful Craft Club.  Have a go at model making, sculpture, textiles, printing, felting - and make new friends along the way!     Sunday Afternoons, 2:00pm-5:00pm. 28th September 26th October 30th November £6 per child. The School of Education and Lifelong Learning will be delivering outreach, undergraduate level one, Art and Design courses on Wednesdays at Arts Alive Wales, run by artist and tutor, Tessa Waite. These courses are held in the Arts Alive Wales building but bookings are managed by the University of Aberystwyrth. The following courses are on offer from October: Imaging the Landscape Code: CF106 (October/November 2014) A practical pastel course based on the local landscape. Pottery with Martin Craddock Concentrating on the making process this practical course introduces the fundamental techniques used in hand-built ceramics. Martin Craddock, our trained potter and tutor will guide you through coiling, slabbing and press-moulded dish making. Basket Making with Mary Zammit Artisan Basket Maker and Willow Craftswoman, Mary Zammit, will introduce you to the skills and techniques of this ancient craft. Using locally grown willow you’ll learn how to design and construct your own basket from scratch. You’ll need a sharp pocket knife, secateurs and a medium flat-headed screw driver.
