The School of Education and Lifelong Learning will be delivering outreach, undergraduate level one, Art and Design courses on Wednesdays at Arts Alive Wales, run by artist and tutor, Tessa Waite. These courses are held in the Arts Alive Wales building but bookings are managed by the University of Aberystwyrth. Saturday Life Drawing with Tony Tribe A monthly class concerned with the importance of observation of the human figure. You will work directly from the life model with Artist, Tony Tribe, on hand to provide individual guidance. The course will equip you with the technical and perceptual skills to competently render the human figure. Each session will feature a long pose of two or three hours’ length, although shorter poses are always incorporated into the day. Pottery with Martin Craddock Concentrating on the making process this practical course introduces the fundamental techniques used in hand-built ceramics. Martin Craddock, our trained potter and tutor will guide you through coiling, slabbing and press-moulded dish making. Weekend Workshop         Textiles with Chris Gray This is a workshop that will be loved by anyone who has seen and marvelled at medieval floor tiles. During two days textile artist Chris Gray will guide you to create trifold books and collaged panels using richly coloured papers, fabrics and stitch to respond to medieval design.
