Cabinet Making with Daniel Tomlinson
This is a practical course, suitable for beginners and those who want to refine their woodwork skills. You will be guided through the traditional techniques of creating hand-made furniture, and in this series of 6 classes you will be making a small shelf piece. Local cabinet maker, Daniel Tomlinson, will guide you through the basics of keeping tools sharp, marking out accurately and making a stopped housing joint. Benches, materials and tools will be provided, but you are welcome to bring your own hand-tools if you have them.
You are recommended to wear sturdy shoes. Please bring a packed lunch if you wish.

Daniel Tomlinson is a professional cabinet maker and his work has been selected for prestigious exhibitions, including 21st Century Furniture- The Arts and Crafts Legacy in London. Daniel designs and makes furniture to commission from his workshop in the Black Mountains. He works with local hardwood where possible, and uses hand tools as well as modern equipment to create contemporary furniture that will last a lifetime.
