The Study of Art and Art History  – with Tony Tribe  

This course looks at paintings through a series of themes which will include the history of representation to the arrival of abstraction.

8 sessions, Wednesdays from 18th January, 7-9:30pm

 

Life Drawing: Charcoal - with Tessa Waite

Based on the figure, this course focuses on the versatile tonal medium of charcoal. It can be easily manipulated allowing for great freedom of compositional movement and the creation of delicate subtlety or rich velvet blacks.

Crickhowell Guild of Spinners, Weavers & Dyers

The Guild is a friendly mixed ability group of men and women, who meet every Thursday 10.30am – 3.00pm at the Arts Alive.

Guild members are enthusiastic and talented craftspeople who focus on traditional textile crafts. They enjoy the weekly meetings where they are able to exchange ideas and to help and encourage each other.

The Guild has a varied annual programme of workshops, talks and visits.

The Guild is open to experienced crafts people as well as to complete beginners. New members and visitors are always welcome.

Yoga

Cathy Genevie has studied in both the USA and Britain under several exceptional teachers. Her classes reflect a deep understanding of Yoga and an awareness of the body gained through years of study and practicing therapeutic massage.

Tai Chi

Flowing with the Rhythm of Breath & Life. Traditional Yang style Tai Chi Chuan. Develops grace, coordination and balance; tones muscles, tendons and joints; stimulates and increases the flow of Chi (Life force) through the internal organs and helps to open both the heart and mind to the joy and mystery of life.

MONDAY

New Year term runs from 9th January  – 26th March (no session during half term).

Beginners: 6 – 7pm

Intermediate: 7.30 -9pm
